Efrain Hernandez Alvarez

Bio:
I'm Efrain Hernandez Alvarez, and I am an incoming Quantitative and Systems Biology (QSB) student. I started my academic journey at my local community college, El Camino College, and eventually transferred to UC Santa Cruz and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Neuroscience. After graduating from UCSC, I worked in Euiseok Kim's lab studying the development of neural circuits and their connectivity. I am very interested in neuroscience and specifically the biochemistry and molecular biology of neurons. Outside of the lab, I enjoy playing either my alto or soprano saxophone and composing music.
